YOU PUT A SPELL ON ME

"Amortentia"

Amortentia is known as the most powerful love spell in Harry Potter, it is very fitting that this would be included in their story since Harry Potter played a huge role in their wedding day. They both consider themselves a bit ‘nerdy’ but we call it fun. Their wedding was filled with Harry Potter, Doctor Who, and Star Wars quotes, Nerf guns, Legos, and all the sci-fi and fantasy you could imagine. Who doesn’t LOVE all of those things. It was evident that THEY planned their own wedding and it really paid off. Their wedding was going to be memorable and they made sure it was by including all of these details that was just as much about who they were and what everyone knows and loves about them.

We have only known them for a short time but thought their wedding was exact to who they were. They wanted to have tons of fun and they did. They wanted to have a wedding that was equally rustic, outdoors-y, and fun all while staying a bit elegant and classy. We feel that they achieved all of this and had a really wonderful, joyous, and memorable wedding day.

One of the most memorable moments for us was when I (Keith) had to drive Sean to Men’s Warehouse cause his pants were nowhere to be found when he was unpacking his suit for the wedding. While doing so, I was messaging Alexis letting her know what happened but not to say anything since it was all under control. This was a wedding day saver for us and we were happy to have helped deliver Sean to his beautiful bride. When she found out it was no biggie that the pants needed to be picked up. She was just happy to move on with the day and marry the man of her dreams.

It was important to Kaitlynn to have details that presented themselves with elegance while being able to blend well with the aesthetic of their wedding day which was rustic nerdy (this is what they called it). The jewelry she chose was sparkly and beautiful but was also soft. This allowed the pieces to mesh well and not be too over the top. The addition of cowboy boots added the perfect rustic element to the bridal attire.

REMOVING THE INVISIBITY CLOAK

The Big Reveal

The anticipation of seeing your future partner the morning of the wedding build and builds and builds. When that moment finally comes and you are able to come out of hiding there is a sigh of relief. All the nerves start dwindling and you feel at ease. You can now enjoy your wedding day. Kaitlynn & Sean felt great with their decision of doing a reveal/first-look as they got to enjoy the rest of the day including their cocktail hour since all of their portraits were done prior to the ceremony. Kaitlynn also points out that her hair & make-up looked perfect for all of the photos.

The Wedding Party

denim + lace

Sticking with their rustic nerdy theme they wanted to have a little fun with the wedding party attire. The guys wore grey pants with grey vests, simple white button downs, and adorned them with a burlap bowtie. The girls were in knee length light blue and off-white dresses with awesome denim jackets.

Spells, Legos, and Nerf Guns

Ceremony Fun
Nerdy
So, aside from some of the decor...the nerdy was ever present in their ceremony. To complete the vows a wand was waved over their heads and a Harry Potter spell was cast. When it was time to do a sand pouring, knot tie, or candle lighting ceremony they put together a Lego heart instead. Then finally when it was time to come down the aisle after being announced husband & wife they put aside the bubbles, rice, or confetti and had their guests shoot them with mini Nerf guns that were taped underneath their chairs.

The Ultimate Fun Nerdy Details

All while maintaining the rustic charm that was SO important to them. They had a lemonade stand during the entirety of the wedding to quench the thirst of all of their guests. Their welcome table was set with beautiful smooth rocks for all of their guests to sign and leave little notes on. At the guest tables their were rustic trays with sunflower centerpieces and pieces of legos for guests to play with.

At the end of the evening they had the ultimate dessert…cookies and milk. Not just any milk; chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry milk.

Fun and Loving Day

Kaitlynn & Sean had a memorable day and it was certainly fun and loving. You can tell by these last two photos that they are very much in love and having fun doing it.
