Kenneth originally planned to propose to Emma in Mount Rainier National Park. His first call to me mentioned the desire to have this big life event take place at Tipsoo Lake and the Naches Peak Trail over in Mount Rainier National Park. Well, Mother Nature had some other plans, and sadly, wildfires within the park altered those plans. Fortunately, we had several discussions over phone, through text, and many emails, to come up with a concrete plan. After all of the conversations, we decided it would be best to move the session to a more secure and reliable location. Ultimately, we landed on Ruby Beach over in Olympic National Park. Upon my arrival, I was delighted to see a beautiful early morning marine layer, a romantic mist that surrounded the entirety of Ruby Beach. It made the whole background creamy white and it looks so painterly. This framed Emma & Kenneth in the most gorgeous of ways. So, there whole session just has this ethereal feel to it, and it just feels so right for this type of session.

What you will find below are some great examples of what it means to be somewhat flexible with your vision and what it means to trust your photographer. Your photographer should be well versed in all of the crucial elements of each of the local National Parks and the conditions that can sometimes pose challenges to that vision. It may not be exactly what you had in mind, but in the end, it will be. You will have ended up in a location that is even more exquisite. You are still newly engaged, and you have the future to look forward to.
