Took an afternoon trip from Tacoma to Roy to visit with Penn Nelson, owner and operator of an exciting new rustic historic barn venue, The Owl’s Nest. The venue itself leans more on the side of a shabby chic, bohemian aesthetic while remaining true to the historic essence of what makes the property so special and unique. It still has all the rustic charm you would expect from a venue of its kind, and has all of the elegance and romantic appeal that you would want out of a location to celebrate your love with love, laughter, and merriment.
Penn took careful time to tell us about all of the planned renovations. We really admire her passion for staying true to the barn, and all that it represents. We clearly understood her vision, and we are very excited for what is to come.
The venue itself can host up to 150 of your closest family and friends for an unforgettable wedding day. Your guests will be captivated by the grandiosity of the ceremony location, which will take place in a lofted barn. To prepare for your day, there is a stunning bridal suite and streamlined groom’s quarters. There is more than enough space to share these moments with your cherished wedding party. Your guests will be amazed by the live edge bar with high top tables. Then you will be able to take a seat and enjoy your reception and dance the night away in a large reception room, complete with high white ceilings, plenty of ample natural light, and a huge dance floor to dance the night away.
The property also has a beautiful creek that runs along the property, two large horse paddocks that will house horses in the spring and summer, and a very large parking lot with plenty of parking for your attendees. The venue itself is roughly 30 minutes from Tacoma, 45 minutes from Olympia, and 45 minutes from Seattle in the heart of Roy, Washington.
